WEB Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is a global humanitarian organization that provides assistance to people in need in more than 100 countries without regard to race, religion, or nationality. Guided by the values of compassion, solidarity, and dignity, CRS works to alleviate suffering and promote human development.

A History of Helping

In 1962, one year after Tanzania celebrated its independence, a devastating drought struck the Arusha region. CRS, then known as the Catholic Relief Bureau, responded swiftly, providing food and other essentials to those affected. This marked the beginning of a long-standing partnership between CRS and the people of Tanzania.

A Global Reach

Today, CRS humanitarian work reaches more than 30 countries in Africa. The continent is home to lush natural and cultural resources, as well as significant challenges such as poverty, hunger, and disease. CRS works in partnership with local communities and organizations to address these challenges and empower people to build a better future.
